ÓÅÃÛ´«Ã½ printmaking tutor stars on Sky Arts ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’
This week, Viola Wang, a ÓÅÃÛ´«Ã½ printmaking tutor, will feature in the Sky Arts series Landscape Artist of the Year 2026. Hosted by Stephen Mangan, the series celebrates extraordinary artistic talent from across the UK and Ireland as a new wave of artists pick up their brushes to capture Britain’s most breathtaking scenery.
Viola’s heat was filmed on HMS Wellington in London, where she competed with other artists in the competition to create an iconic London landscape. Across the heats, eight artists in each episode have just four hours to capture their chosen scene. Viola said; “it was a great thrill to be selected for this landmark Sky Arts painting series – I hope everyone gets a chance to see it!”
Winners from each heat progress to the semi-final and final, where one artist will be crowned Landscape Artist of the Year 2026 and receives a £10,000 commission to paint Croagh Patrick Ireland’s holy mountain for the National Gallery of Ireland.
